Fall Guys will soon be crossing over with Disney, as a bunch of new The Jungle Book-themed content is debuting in the games fifth season.
New Jungle Book Themed Content Is Coming to Fall Guys
A short trailer for a new collaboration between Disney and Fall Guys was revealed in Gamescoms Opening Night Live Broadcast. It depicted the battle royales signature jellybean avatars cosplaying as the likes of Mowgli, Shere Khan and Baloo, while they navigated tropical obstacle courses.
This is a smart fit for Fall Guys, given that the ongoing fifth season already has a rainforest theme that complements these new skins. Likewise, the cartoony aesthetic of the game means that the appealing character designs carry over seamlessly.
Speaking of which, the cosmetic skins are modelled after the characters from the original animated version of The Jungle Book, as opposed to the 2016 live-action remake.
In addition to The Jungle Book outfits, there will also be a limited-time King Louie event, which will be overseen by the villainous orangutan himself. This event will presumably introduce a new multiplayer mode or course.
When Will the Jungle Book Content Be Arriving in Fall Guys?
The new The Jungle Book-themed content will be arriving in Fall Guys on Friday, September 3. However, the King Louie event will only be running for a limited time and will close on Sunday, September 12.
While this particular aspect of the crossover is time-sensitive, it is likely that The Jungle Book skins will stick around for the remainder of the season to give people a chance to acquire them.
Movie crossovers of this kind are becoming increasingly frequent in live-service video games like Fall Guys. In the past 3 months alone we have seen Fortnite incorporate elements of James Gunns The Suicide Squad, Marvels Black Widow, and Space Jam: A New Legacy.
In fact, this is not even the first time that Fall Guys has crossed over with a cinematic property, as they have previously featured cosmetics for the likes of Godzilla and Tron. Meanwhile, on their end, Disney recently orchestrated a Pirates of the Caribbean tie-in with Rares Sea of Thieves. In short, this kind of thing is fast becoming a trend.
In other news from the Gamescom showcase, a release date for Halo Infinite has finally been unveiled and we also got our first look at Call of Duty: Vanguards campaign. Elsewhere, we found out that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt will soon be heading to Steam Early Access.
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is available now on PC and PlayStation consoles.
